In addition\u00a0to\u00a0realising a complete\u00a0recording of all 297 pieces on\u00a016 CDs, the project aims\u00a0to give music lovers the opportunity to experience this extraordinary collection in its entirety, by organizing integral performances\u00a0in 16 recitals throughout Europe. These concerts will be the first time in history that the\u00a0<strong><em>Fitzwilliam Virginal Book\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>will have been performed in its entirety.<\/p>\n<p>To this end, eight internationally renowned harpsichordists\/organists from four countries, came together to develop this extraordinary project. This variety of approaches will maximise both the historical relevance with authentic performance practices, and therefore\u00a0the\u00a0impact of the recording on the global market. It will be recorded by eight different players performing on all types of keyboard instruments known in England in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries:\u00a0<b>harpsichord<\/b>, <b>virginals<\/b>, <b>regal<\/b>, <b>organ<\/b>, <b>clavichord<\/b> and <b>claviorganum<\/b>. As well as\u00a0historical instruments, modern copies by the most eminent European makers will be used.<\/p>\n<p>The concerts will be organized as <em>marathon<\/em>\u00a0events, i.e. lasting between two to four\u00a0days, or extending over a longer period, for example an entire season.
